How often should I use this product?

If you have oily skin to combination skin use 2 to 3 times a week for best results. For dry or sensitive skin, use up to 2 times per week. Avoid using on the same day as your Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment.

How do I use the mask?

Cleanse your face before applying the mask with your free applicator brush. Leave it for about 10 minutes until fully dry. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a fresh towel. Proceed to a mirror to admire your glowing skin.

Why the Brush?

It is more hygienic than using your fingers and you will get an even coverage. It is also a much faster way to apply our mask and helps not to waste product! Remember to wash your brush after mask application. If possible point it downwards to help it dry quicker.

I feel a tingle, is that normal?

Yes! Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask is full of active ingredients. This tingle is good and means that the ingredients are working to tackle the impurities on your skin while you relax.

I have sensitive skin. Can I use this product?

Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask uses active ingredients to draw out toxins in the skin. We suggest patch testing the mask 48 hours before use on your inner elbow. If irritation occurs do not use.

Does this product treat acne?

Our product draws out toxins, pollutants, and oils that clog the pores. It can be incorporated into any skin routine but will not cure acne alone.

Why is the Sand & Sky mask better than other products?

Most clay masks contain 10-15% clay. Our masks content is 50% clay, which drives more effective skin results. We use all organic and natural Australian ingredients which we have hand-picked. We also source our ingredients sustainably and work closely with local authorities to meet their environmental regulations to ensure that there is as little disruption as possible.

What if I have experienced breakouts after first use?

This 4 in 1 mask detoxes, invigorates, refines, and brightens your skin. When detoxing the skin sometimes breakouts occur. If you experience a few spots after using the mask, don’t worry, it generally means it is doing its job! All the sebum is being drawn to the surface of the skin, so once you have moved past this phase, your skin should be clear and you won’t experience this every time you use the mask. If your spots are in the areas where you normally have enlarged pores and congestion, then this is called a purge and it is a good thing! If your spots are outside of these areas, then the product may not be right for your skin.

Are all of the ingredients in Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask sourced from Australia?

Only the highest quality ingredients are to be used in Sand & Sky products. Our formulations while created from nature, are also supported by science – to create a natural effective product.

Is it true that all skincare has to contain some form of preservative?

Preservatives are necessary to make sure that skincare stays at its most effective in different environments, and prevents the growth of microorganisms. We have kept them to a minimum, whilst making sure that we preserve the efficacy of our product and ensuring that furry bacteria doesn’t grow in our lovely mask.

Benzyl Alcohol: An alcohol permitted by the FDA to be used in concentrations up to 5% in skincare, we use 0.50%. It’s one of the least sensitizing preservatives in use. It can pose a risk of sensitivity when used in high amounts, but is considered safe in cosmetics. Can be of synthetic or natural origin from plants, fruits and essential oils such as jasmine and ylang ylang.
Phenoxyethanol: An alcohol evaluated by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, can be used up to 5% in skincare, we use less than 1% . Lots of natural brands use this in their formula as it is considered very safe, it is naturally occurring in green tea!
Dehydroacetic Acid: Considered a safe preservative, the EU Cosmetics Directive permits usage of up to 6%, our formula uses 0.01%.

What happens if a product doesn't contain a preservative?

Any cream based product that doesn't contain a preservative is not considered safe and should not be used.

Is your product tested on animals?

Sand & Sky is not tested on animals. We love our furry friends and are cruelty-free. We are also 100% PETA approved.

Do your products contain any animal components or by-products?

Sand & Sky is free of any animal components and/or by-products.

Where do you source your materials from?

Our ingredients are sourced from Australia. We work with local specialists and do research to make sure we only use quality ethical ingredients.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Our products do have a typical shelf life of 24 months. If our products are kept out of direct sunlight and at room temperature or below, they will stay fresher longer.

Are your products gluten free?

Yes, all of our products are gluten free, and do not come in any contact with gluten during production.

I'm pregnant. Is it safe to use your product?

Congratulations! Our mask doesn't contain any chemicals that can harm you or the baby. It contains a very small amount of preservative just to preserve the efficacy and we are FDA compliant. We would like you to be aware that each jar contains 0.0058ml of Vitamin A, with 15 applications this amounts to approx. 0.000386ml per application. However, we do recommend seeking your doctors advice if unsure.

I have eczema / rosacea. Can I still use the mask?

Clay masks are known to dry the skin so it’s important to follow the recommended usage. Please do a patch test at least 48 hours before you use it. You might experience a mild tingling sensation on your first use. Although it doesn’t contain any ingredients that might trigger eczema or rosacea, everybody is different so we suggest to check with your doctor if you’re sensitive to any of the ingredients.

Is this company based in Australia / is the mask fully Australian?

Yes! We are born and bred in Melbourne. All of our ingredients are natural Australian ingredients and we manufacture the mask here in Australia too! We do have four warehouses; in Australia, Singapore, the US and the UK. That’s why you might see different shipping times according to where you live. How do I use the exfoliating treatment?

Cleanse your face before applying your exfoliating treatment. Apply to moist skin and massage for 30 seconds, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 5 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Oh heyyy gawjus!

I feel a tingle, is that normal?

Yes! A tingling sensation is normal for all skin types as there are a lot of active natural ingredients getting to work on the skin. If you feel a level that is too high to bear, then remove the scrub immediately.

I have sensitive skin. Can I use this product?

Yes! For first-time users with sensitive skin, we suggest patch testing 48 hours before use on your inner elbow. If skin is very sensitive or feeling fragile, just smooth the exfoliating treatment over the surface of the skin without scrubbing the face, and let it sit for 5 mins. The physical exfoliants may irritate the skin, but the fruit acids will gently work to dissolve the glue that keeps dead skin cells stuck to the surface of the skin. This treatment is perfect for dry skin as it has hydrating qualities and is very gentle on the skin.

I have dry skin. Can I use this product?

Our exfoliating treatment is perfect for dry skin as it has hydrating qualities and is very gentle on the skin.

Does this product treat acne?

However, the fruit acids will gently work to dissolve the glue that keeps dead skin cells stuck to the surface of the skin.*

What if I have experienced breakouts after first use?

Don't worry; it's normal to experience breakouts after using a clay product. Clay draws impurities to the surface of your skin, so they have to come out somehow! If the pimples are in a spot where you normally get pimples, this is called a purge, and it’s a good thing as it means the treatment is doing its job. If they are in a different area to where you normally get pimples, it may mean that the mask is not right for you. We do recommend you try the treatment again, and if you keep getting breakouts after a couple of uses, then discontinue use.

Some ladies are comfortable using a small amount of topical Vitamin A, but others are not. We suggest that you do a little research, consult your doctor and decide for yourself.

Can this product lighten my acne marks/scarring?

Our exfoliating treatment contains AHAs, like those in Australian Finger Lime Extract, which work on removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. This process resurfaces the skin to improve overall skin appearance. By doing so, it may also reduce the appearance of acne scars but this is not guaranteed. We always recommend following your morning routine with application of a broad spectrum sunscreen which should reduce sun damage and

What is the difference with macadamia nut and macadamia seed?

What is commonly known as the macadamia nut is actually the seed of the macadamia tree, or macadamia seed. We use the shells of the macadamia seed to gently exfoliate the skin.

Is macadamia seed oil considered as an allergen?

Macadamia seed oil is an oil derived from the seed of the macadamia tree. While peanut and tree nut allergies can differ in terms of prevalence and severity, we recommend a patch test for anyone suffering from nut allergies or with sensitive skin. If your allergy is severe we do not recommend using the Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment.

What is an AHA and what are the benefits of using it?

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (or AHAs) are naturally occurring acids found in fruits and milk. These acids gently exfoliate the skin by dissolving the glue that keeps dead skin cells stuck to the skin surface, revealing fresh new cells underneath. AHAs promote cell turnover, collagen production, and the absorption of moisture into the skin. This means smoother, plumper, and more hydrated skin for you! The AHAs in our product are suitable for all skin types. If you regularly use products containing AHAs we recommend you use a broad spectrum sunscreen every day.

What is the AHA percentage in the Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment?

Our Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment has an AHA percentage below 10%. It is gentle enough to be used by people with sensitive skin, however we always recommend a patch test for those with sensitive/dry skin types.

Will I experience skin peeling since the product contains AHA?

The AHA levels in our Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment are not high enough to cause peeling for the majority of users, although you may experience a tingle during application. Those with sensitive skin may experience a slight peel or flaking of the skin. This is an initial reaction as your skin becomes accustomed to the AHAs, however if it recurs or worsens, discontinue use of the product.

The exfoliating treatment and the mask both contain Australian Pink Clay, so what's the difference?

The mask works as a four in one detox treatment. Containing high levels of Australian Pink Clay, it draws impurities to the surface of the skin, clearing pores of sebum and debris.The exfoliating treatment uses physical particles and AHAs to remove dead skin cells, and smooth the skin. This allows your serums and moisturisers to absorb better and more effectively. The exfoliating treatment also contains Australian Pink Clay, which allows it to be used as a flash mask in the shower, making it an ideal option for people with very dry skin who are unable to use our original mask. The exfoliating treatment and mask work best together, as part of your regular skincare routine. Use on different nights as a powerful combo that will kick enlarged pores, redness, and dull, tired skin to the curb!

They both contain Australian Pink Clay as a core ingredient. However, each product contains differing ingredients to best suit their purpose.

Clearing the pores and controlling oil & sebum production can assist in resolving acne, however the products cannot solve acne alone.

I have sensitive skin. Can I use both of these product?

Both of our products are suitable for all skin types. We recommend conducting a patch test 24 hours prior to use to ensure no reaction in the skin. The Flash Perfection Exfoliating Treatment contains Macadamia Seed Oil and Macadamia Seed, if you suffer from tree nut allergies we recommend conducting a patch test 24 hours prior to use, or avoiding use of this product.

How do I get my box if it has been delivered to the old/incorrectly provided address?

Please take note that if the reason that you did not receive your parcel is because of addresses have been entered incorrectly, addresses that are not updated before we collect our shipment list, or if you fail to pick up your parcel from your local post office following attempted delivery, there is nothing we can do for this order. For your next order, please login to your account and update your address here.

What can I subscribe to receiving?

Right now, subscription is only available for our Porefining Face Mask. This can apply to both a single unit order and a besties kit order.

How do I become a subscriber?

When placing an order, you must tick the "subscribe" button in order to become a subscriber.

How is my subscription sent?

Your subscription will be sent using our standard shipping partners. We recommend that the delivery address that you use is where you will most likely be during business hours. If you are working full time you may opt for the box to be delivered to your work, or else if someone is available to receive your package at home you can opt for that as well.

What happens if I am not at home / not available during the delivery time?

If you are not at home during the delivery time, our delivery instructions are to 'leave in a secure place out of the weather'. However, kindly understand that this is done at the postage worker's discretion - if they believe there is a safe place such as in your letterbox they will leave it there otherwise they will leave a card instructing you to pick it up from the post office.

How do I know where my subscription order is? How do I track my box?

The moment we start dispatching boxes from our external warehouse we will notify you via email with your tracking number.

When will my subscription be sent?

Your subscription will be sent on the same date every 1 month, 2 months or 3 months (depending on what frequency you have chosen).

How can I change my payment method?

Right now, you cannot change your payment method. If you have lost or cancelled your card, or simply want to use a different one, you will have to cancel your subscription and re-subscribe using your new payment details.

How do I change my delivery address?

You can change your delivery address in the My Account section of our website.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your subscription at any time, however please note that if it is within 48 hours of your next billing date it is too late to cancel your next order. Therefore we will bill and ship your next order but every subsequent order after that will be cancelled.

Where is subscription available?

Subscription is available to all countries we currently ship to.

If I am from the US and I order via express shipping, will this apply to all future subscription orders?

No, express shipping will only apply to your first order. All subsequent recurring orders will be sent via normal shipping.

Can I pause my subscription?

Yes you can pause your subscription in the My Account section of our website. Please note: if it is within 48 hours of your next billing date it is too late to pause your next order. Therefore we will bill and ship your next order but every subsequent order after than will be paused.

Can I schedule the delivery?

No, it is not possible to schedule your delivery. Your order will be shipped on the calendar date that you originally ordered and delivery time may vary month on month.

How do I add more products or change my subscription products?

Right now, it is not possible to change your subscription products or add more products to your subscription. You will need to subscribe via a new order to do this.

What is the max number of units I can get in my subscription?

You can have 5 units per subscription.

How long does Express Shipping take?

There are two options for Express Shipping, which are currently only available in the US. Overnight delivery takes 1 business day. Orders must be placed before 12 noon PST to arrive by 3pm PST the following business day. If “Overnight Express Shipping” is selected and the order is placed after 12 noon PST, please expect your order to arrive between 1-2 business days.
2 day Express Shipping will take 1-2 business days to arrive. Orders must be placed before 12 noon PST to arrive at the latest by 3pm PST 2 business days later. If “2 Day Express Shipping” is selected and the order is placed after 12 noon PST, please expect your order to arrive between 2-3 business days.

Do you do Express Shipping worldwide?

At the moment Express Shipping is available in the US only, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Express Shipping is not available for PO Box and APO/FPO addresses.

Is there any cut off time for Express Shipping?

Orders need to be placed by 12 noon PST to arrive the next business day for overnight delivery, and by 12 noon PST to arrive in 1-2 business days for 2 Day Express Shipping.

Can you deliver to PO Box Addresses?

No, Express Shipping is not available for PO Box and APO/FPO addresses.

Do you require a signature upon delivery?

No, a signature is not required upon delivery.

How much is Express Shipping?

Overnight Express Shipping is $17.95 USD and 2 Day Express Shipping is $8.95 USD.
